Roland A. "Bud" Seeman. 93, Marshfield, died on Monday evening, Jan. 30, 2012, at the House of the Dove, Marshfield, under the care of Ministry Home Hospice. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Rev. Mark A. Krueger officiated. Burial was in the Loyal City Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #175 of Loyal.
Roland A. Seeman was born on March 2, 1918, in Algoma, to William and Ida (Nee Picha) Seeman. He graduated from Loyal High School and Wausau Business Institute. His first job was at Underwood Veneer Co. in Bessemer, Mich, where he worked as a bookkeeper. He was also a court stenographer for four years. He served in the United States Army in Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan, from May 1942 until his honorable discharge as a stall sergeant in December 1945. He returned to Loyal and was elected to the Common Council and was treasurer for Loyal Industries. He had been a member of the Loyal American Legion Post #175 for 65 years and a long time member of the VFW Post #1866 of Marshfield. He married Arlene Johnston on April 19, 1942, in Loyal. She passed away on March 19, 1990. He then married Lorraine F. Buser Bartell on Sept. 11, 1993, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield. They traveled and lived in Florida during the winter months.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; two sons, Vaughn Seeman, Marshfield, and Kurt Seeman, Eau Claire; two step-daughters, Julianne Kay Bartell, Marshfield, and Joni Peterson, Arpin; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Marvin (Hazel) Seeman, Marshfield.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Renee, and a sister, Eileen Luther.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the ALS Foundation.
