Jerome "Jerry" Harry Thieme,
76, of Marshfield, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 28,
2012.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7,
2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshfield. Rev. Ruth

time at the church on Wednesday. The Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home

Jerry was born March 9, 1935 in Clark County, the son of Harry
Herman Thieme and Louise (Tesmer) Thieme. He graduated from
Greenwood High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army as a
military policeman. Upon returning from active duty, Jerry was
hired by the Marshfield Police Department, where he served his
community for more than 30 years, retiring as a detective. In
retirement he greatly enjoyed working at Marshfield Country Club
and Figi's.
Mr. Thieme was a dedicated member of Wesley United Methodist Church
(choir, bible study and various programs and dinners). He cherished
time spent with family, friends and especially his children. His
hobbies were biking, lawn care, monthly card club parties, high
school sporting events, morning coffee with the guys and grilling
out. Those who know him best will always remember him for his warm
spirit and love of God, country and loved ones.
Jerry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jo Ann; sons, Jaye Allen
Thieme of Indianapolis, Joey Jonathan Thieme of Edinburgh,
Scotland, and Jason John Thieme of Davenport, Iowa. He is further
survived by his siblings, Duaine Franklin Thieme (Barbara) of
Redmond, Wash., Giles Alfred Thieme (Cathie) of Marshfield, and
Valerie Ann Demos (Alan) of Bonn, Germany; and one uncle, Rudy
Thieme of Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Louise, and many
loved aunts and uncles.
