Clark, Karen Amelia (25 July 1959)
Pink Gladioli and garden flowers provided the background for the marriage of Miss Karen Amelia Clark and Gerald Hinkelmann July 25 by the Rev. John Pfohl. Witnessing the 1:30 p.m. service in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Loyal were their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Stengel, route 2 Appleton, and Mrs. Elsie Hinkelmann, route 1, Loyal.
Miss Marie Miolund, Withee, was the bride’s choice for maid of honor, with Mrs. Roger Zakowski, Owen and Mrs. Dale Wolf, Loyal, as bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Eldred Schutte, Unity as best man and George Stumpner, Loyal, and Dale Wolf, Loyal, as groomsmen. Ushers were Herbert Hinkelmann and Frank Clark.
The bride’s attendants wore gowns of turquoise and pink chiffon lace over taffeta, styled with bubble skirts and empire bodices. Their headpieces were horsehair tiaras trimmed with pearls and blush veils. White roses formed their colonial bouquets.
The bride appeared in a gown of scalloped embroidered tulle over taffeta fashioned with a chapel train and detailed bodice. The bouffant skirt was tiered with a scallop at the back forming the ruffled tulle train. A sweetheart cloche made of lace and trimmed with pearl rosettes held her fingertip veil of silk illusion and she carried a bouquet of white rosebuds entwined with ivy.
A reception followed the ceremony at Braun’s Bar, with supper served at the church hall and a dance was held at the Kolby Park Pavilion. The couple honeymooned in Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Hinkelmann are at home on Route 1, Loyal, where the groom, a graduate of Loyal High School, is employed in framing. The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee Senior High and has been employed at Employer’s Mutual Insurance Co., Wausau.
