Beitzinger (Smith), Lavina (23 March 1901 - 14 July 1959)
Mrs. Al Beitzinger, 58 of Long Beach, Calif., died at her home July 14, 1959. Funeral services were conducted at the Ermenc Funeral Home in Milwaukee at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21. The Rev. I. Castagna officiated. Interment was in Highland Memorial Park.
The former Lavina Tietsch was born in Muscatine, Iowa, March 23, 1901.
She was married to Owen Smith of Loyal at Neillsville, Oct. 19, 1920. They lived at Loyal. He died in 1951. To this union three children were born, Mrs. L.G. (Leila) Anderson, Loyal; Mrs. Frank (Juanita) Mackal Jr., Milwaukee; and Dale E. Smith, Grafton. These three survive. Also surviving are her second husband, Al Beitzinger of Long Beach; three step-children, Alois Beitzinger of West Allis; Jerome Beitzinger of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Jerry (Geraldine) Gayette of Milwaukee; 19 grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Tietsch, Mishawaka, Ind.; Harold Tietsch, Owen; and Curtis Tietsch, Laredo, Texas; and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Altmann, Muscatine, Iowa; Mrs. Floy Schnoor, Owen; and Mrs. Ruth Lobdell, Montpelier, Iowa.
Those from away who attended the funeral services in Milwaukee were Mr. Al Beitzinger, Long Beach, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Dale E. Smith and daughter, Grafton; Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Anderson and daughters, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tietsch, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson, Mrs. Floy Schnoor and Mr. and Mrs. Lorance Schnoor, of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Luscher, Medford; Mrs. Mable Altmann and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lobdell, Muscatine, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Lobdell, Audrey Lobdell and Mrs. Charles McGovern, Montpelier, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Tietsch, Mishawaka, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Silvas, Bremen, Ind.; Mrs. Raymond Tietsch and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Grimmes, South Bend, Ind.; Mrs. Vernon Finch and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Henninger, Port Washington, Mr. and Mrs. William Persall and daughter, Shirland, Ill.; and Mrs. Ida Herlensteiner, Hawthorne, Calif.
