Humbird (24 June 1965)

 

A Youth fellowship for all churches has been organized and at a recent meeting elected the following officers: president, Duane Hefty; vice president, Kenneth Sheffer; secretary, Kathy Printz; treasurer, Faye Printz.  Their next meeting will be held Thursday, July 8, at 8 p.m. in St. John’s United Church of Christ.  A softball team will be organized, if possible. All children from the seventh grade through high school are eligible. They are hoping for a good attendance.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Terrell and granddaughter, Nancy Ness, were in Neillsville Saturday to see the parade and other attractions of the Summer Festival, which they liked very much.

 

Mrs. Clarence Collins attended a post-nuptial shower at the Hoffman cottage in Hatfield June 17, in honor of Mrs. David Hoffman.  Mrs. Hoffman is the former Marilyn Gower of rural Alma Center.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rush of Black River Falls and Mrs. Gaylord Stanley and children of Beresford, S. D., called Sunday evening on Mrs. Emma Gerber and at the Willard Stanley home.

 

Mrs. Bob Mortenson and children and Mrs. Pretsch of Shortville spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Christine Hanson.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Finnegan and children of Fontana spent from Saturday until Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Arnold Matti.

 

Perle Pickett came home Saturday from the hospital.  He is feeling better, but was to return Tuesday for more tests.

 

Mrs. Cullen Dignin came home early Sunday morning from a visit in Gary, Ind.  She was accompanied home by her granddaughter, Erma Nibbe.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roland Johnson and children were here from La Crosse Sunday to call at the Elmer Duerkop home and attend the reception in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Greub.


Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Olson of Greendale called at the Arnold Matti home Saturday.
