Greenwood (1 July 1965)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Swieso and family of Burlington visited recently with his mother, Mrs. Walter Swieso. They were enroute to Cross Lake, Minn., for a two-week vacation.

 

Patricia Herrick of Colby visited Monday and Tuesday at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Scherr.

 

Mrs. Marie O’Conner is here for a week’s visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kaudy. She planned also to visit in Stetsonville with her brother, John Kaudy, and His family, before returning to Chicago.

 

Mrs. Lydia Dishaw and son, James, of Oak Creek visited with her sister, Mrs. Julia Koci, one day last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Price Davis and family of Milwaukee are spending a week at the home of her sister, Mrs. Elmer Meinhardt, and with other relatives. Other guests over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Peterson of Appleton and Charles Browning and Miss Sally Sieger of Kenosha.


Mr. and Mrs. James Koci of Milwaukee visited over the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Julia Koci, and at the home of his sister, Mrs. Francis Kohlnhofer. They also visited in Loyal with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vogel.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wetzel and daughter, Terry, recently returned from Germany, where he was stationed.  After he received his discharge, they came to Greenwood to reside.  Mrs. Wetzel is the former Dorene Irvine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Irvine of Greenwood.

 

A family picnic was held Saturday at the Glen Drew home.  Present were their children, Mrs. Carl Ligon and daughter, Lisa, and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Drew and family of Milwaukee; and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Drew and family of Hales Corners. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. William Jake, Jr., and family of Neillsville.

 

The local order of Eastern Star held their closing meeting, prior to the summer recess, at the Masonic Hall. A lunch was served by Mrs. Glen Drew and Mrs. Evan Hatton.

 

Mrs. Walter Swieso accompanied the Leonard Thiede family of Granton to Stevens Point, where they attended the music concert at the Wisconsin State University. Mrs. Swieso’s grandson, James Thiede and John Hillert of Granton, participated.  Following the concert the group joined friends from Bear Creek for a picnic in the Stevens Point Park.
