Suffers a Heart Attack Sunday Morning While Shoveling Snow at Farm Home In the Town of Unity.
Clarence R. Hutchins, 66, died of a heart attack Sunday morning, Jan. 5, 1941, while shoveling snow at his farm home in the town of Unity, four and one-half miles northwest of Spencer. He left the house about 9 o’clock, Mrs. Hutchins said, to shovel snow, and about an hour later was found where he had fallen over onto the ground, dead.
Deceased was born in the town of Osseo, Fond du Lac county, Wis., on March 27, 1874, the son of Ranson Hutchins, who came there from New York. Here he grew up into manhood. He worked in the woods for a time and on Oct. 23, 1901, he was married to Miss Anna Catlin in the town of Sherman. He settled on the farm he purchased in the town of Unity 39 years ago. It was then wild land and he experienced the life of the early pioneer clearing up and improving it.
Mr. Hutchins was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, and is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Iva Foelske, town of Beaver, and Mrs. Orel Schwieso, Loyal; one son, Delbert of Spencer; two brothers, Warren of Riplinger and Oscar of Loyal; four sisters, Mrs. Eliz Nichols, Loyal; Mrs. Chas. Smith, Rapid City, S. D.; Mrs. Ben Dietsche, Riplinger, Mrs. Jessie Lyon, Hingham, Mont.; seven grandchildren. One child died in infancy and a brother Herbert, died eight years ago.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 o’clock Thursday (today) in the Loyal Methodist church. Rev. Orlando Jewell, the pastor, in charge with interment in the church cemetery.
