Griepentrog, Hebert F. (3 JUL 1900 - 10 OCT 1963)

 

Final rites for Herbert Frank Griepentrog, 63, were conducted at 11:00 o’clock Saturday forenoon, Oct. 12, from St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, Owen.  Father Richard Hewetson read the service with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Herb Utteck, Sam Nelson, Joe Lange, Paul Stasek, John Stock and Clarence Schopfer.

 

The deceased had been in failing health for the past several months and passed away Oct. 10, 1963, at Sunnyvale Infirmary at Wausau.

 

Born July 3, 1900, at Spencer, he pursued the trade of a cheese maker shortly after his high school years and had since been engaged in that field for the past 45 years.  He owned and operated the West Marshfield Cheese Factory for 30 years and since that time had been living in Owen, where he operated the Owen Dairy for 15 years.

 

In 1919 he was united in marriage to Leona Bast at Colby.  She preceded him in death.  Nov. 1, 1954, he and Helen Stock were united in marriage.

 

His death is mourned by his widow, Helen Griepentrog; three brothers, Alfred, Reinhart and Michael, all of Marshfield; five sons, Herbert Griepentrog, Wausau, Neale Griepentrog, Chippewa Falls, Ted Griepentrog, Marshfield, and Earle, Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Mrs. Victor (Greta) Meyers, and Mrs. David (Judith) Seidl, Marshfield; 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
