Lano, Wilhelmina L. (28 JAN 1883 - 19 SEP 1963)

 

Rev. Lauri Isaacson, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, Owen, officiated at services held Wednesday, Oct. 23, for Mrs. John Lano at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Lano succumbed to complications of old age, passing away at 8:30 Sunday night at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.  She was 80 years and 9 months of age.

 

At the service Kauno Niemi, Frank Luoma, Solomon Laakso, Arvo Sormynen, John Siikarla and Roy Klovning served as pallbearers.

 

Wilhelmina Louise Lano was born Jan. 28, 1883, in Finland.  On June 24, 1902, she was united in marriage to the late John Lano who preceded her in death, passing away Sept. 19, 1939.  Two years after their marriage the couple left Finland, coming to the United States, making their home at Virginia, Minn.  Six years later, in 1910, they moved to Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) and then to Colby in 1920, and in 1925 settled on a farm near Curtiss.  In 1955 she and her son, Arnold, retired from farming and moved to Owen.

 

In addition her one son, Arnold, Owe, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Signe) Brownell, Crystal Lake, Ill.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
