Geary, Lynn Ann (12 OCT 1963)
Vows were pronounced before the Rev. R.L. Tellock in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Curtiss at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 1963, by Miss Lynn Ann Geary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Geary, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), and Roger William Maki, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Maki, Owen. Mr. Geary gave his daughter in marriage.
Mrs. George Maki of Madison played the "Wedding March" and Dennis Laabs sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Song of Ruth." Robert Benson was the accompanist.
Gold, bronze and white chrysanthemums were used to decorate the church altar and chancel.
The bride was attired in a floor length gown of silk organza over taffeta with embroidered jewel trimmed motif outlining the scoop neckline. The controlled skirt was formed by small pleats at the waistline and featured a front panel which repeated the embroidered motif. The full back was accented by a large bow and sash.
Her headpiece of several delustered satin roses surrounded by imported Italian orange blossoms held her French illusion fingertip veil.
The bride’s flowers were red roses with white stephanotis in a cascade arrangement with ivy on white streamers.
Miss Sue Geary was the maid of honor; Miss Patricia Laabs, Oshkosh, the bridesmaid, and Kathryn and Marily Maki, the junior bridesmaids. The aides were attired in brocade street length dresses of peacock blue with sweetheart neckline and controlled skirt fronts featuring loose panels with small bow trim and completed by bustle backs and large bows.
Their short bouffant veils were attached to circlets of small flowers and leaves enhanced with seed pearl trim. Each aide carried a cascade arrangement of white chrysanthemums, having white pompons on streamers.
David Maki, Owen, was the best man; LaVerne Shilts, Marshfield, the groomsman, and Bill Geary, Markesan, and Ronald Krings, Wis. Rapids, were ushers.
The wedding reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. with the dinner being served at the parish hall from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and the dance that evening at the Curtiss Village Hall.
Mrs. Maki is a 1963graduate of Dor-Abby High School and her husband was graduated two years previous from Owen-Withee High School.
The bridegroom is engaged in farming north of Owen. The newlyweds plan a wedding trip to the West in November.
Wedding guests came from la Crosse, Stevens Point, Medford, Dorchester, Coon Valley, Stanley, Markesan, Tomah, Abbotsford, Madison, Marshfield, Wis. Rapids, Owen, Eau Claire, Barron, Curtiss and Oshkosh, from St. Cloud, Minneapolis and Northfield, Minn., and Ocheyedan and Reinbeck, Iowa.
