Frank D. Pieper, son of Mr. and mrs. Frank Pieper, will be ordained into the ministry of the American Lutheran Church Sunday June 8, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal at 2 p.m.
Ordaining Mr. Pieper will be the Rev. J. C. Langholtz, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thorton, Iowa. Preaching the sermon will be Pastor E. F. Eske of Peace Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. The Rev. John Pfohl, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal will conduct the liturgy.
Mr. Pieper attended the Loyal High School, graduating in 1949. He then attended Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from there in 1954. His theological study was taken at Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa, from where he graduated on My 28, 1958, with a Bachelor of Divinity degree. During is seminary training he served a year’s internship at Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton.
He married Joyce Grau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Grau, Calamus, Iowa on June 7, 1952. They have two children, Stephen and Cheryl, five and three years respectively.
The Piepers will live at Kimball, South Dakota, where Mr. Pieper has accepted the call to serve Emmanual Lutheran Church. He will be installed there Sunday, June 15.
The public is invited to attend the ordination service. A reception for friends and guests will be held in Fellowship Hall at Trinity Church immediately following the ordination.
