Paun, Sharon Kay (Marriage - 14 August 1965)
Marriage vows were exchanged Saturday in a nuptial mass in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chili by Miss Sharon Kay Paun, daughter of Mrs. Mary Paun of Granton, and Lawrence G. Steinwagner of Granton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Boyance of Marshfield.
Altar bouquets of white and yellow gladioli graced each side of the altar for the double ring ceremony at which the Rev. Carroll Walljasper officiated.
For her wedding, Miss Paun chose a white, long-sleeved Empire floor-length princess style gown of peau de soie. Re-embroidered French lace, accented with iridescent sequins and seed pearls, was appliquéd on the full length of gown, and repeated on the cathedral train. Her veil of French silk illusion was secured to a Duchess rose topping a pillbox. She carried a cascade bouquet of yellow garnet roses and feathered white carnations.
Tom Paun, uncle of the bride, gave her in marriage. Mrs. Henry Pember of Pittsville served a matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. George Nielsen of Port Edwards, Mrs. Edward Steinwagner of Marshfield and Miss Gloria Chitwood of Plymouth.
They wore floor-length gold delustered satin Empire-style gowns, featuring topaz crystals banding the waist, dipping low in back to catch a row of smooth fitting pleats. Their headpieces were matching circlets banded by a row of crystals. They carried cascade arrangements of bronze pompons.
Vickie Nielsen of Port Edwards, as flower girl wore a dress identical to that of the bride. Jeff Reeths of Janesville carried the rings on a heart-shaped satin pillow.
The groom’s attendants were Henry Pember of Pittsville, as bestman; George Nielsen of Port Edwards, Edward Steinwagner of Marshfield and Roger Eldredge of Plymouth as groomsmen. Ushers were Tom Paun, Jr., and Arnold Oestreich.
Mrs. Steinwagner, a 1963 graduate of Granton High School, has been employed as a bookkeeper in Marshfield. Mr. Steinwagner was graduated in 1959 from Marshfield High School and is employed in construction work there. They are making their home on Rt. 2, Granton.
