Rake, Stanley P. (10 May 1896 - 19 August 1965)
Funeral services were held Monay morning from St. Michales Catholic Church in Beaver Dam for Stanley P. Rake, 69, of Neillsville, who died here August 19. The Rev. Valerian Rykowski officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.
The body was taken Saturday from the Georgas Funeral Home to Beaver Dam.
Mr. Rake was born May 10, 1896, in Beaver Dam. He attended schools there and on May 16, 1917, he was married to the former Anna Smoody in Red Granite.
He was a veteran of World War I having entered the service on April 26, 1917. He served in France in the Muse-Argonne offensive. He received his discharge September 4, 1918, at Camp Grant, Ill.
Mr. Rake worked for the postal department in Beaver Dam for many years before retiring and moving to Neillsville in 1955.
He is survived by his wife; two children, Alfred of Neillsville and Mrs. R. C. (Genevieve) Dunn of Greenwich, Conn. Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Agnes O’Hara and Mrs. Irene Hernke, both of Milwaukee, and Mrs. G. (Josephine) Riggles of Valparaiso, Ind.; and by two brothers, Leo of Beaver Dam and Joseph of Ripon.
