MARY HANSON DIES TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Had Been In Ill Health About A Year; Loss to Spencer of a Faithful Co-Worker for Betterment of Village.
Tuesday afternoon at about five o’clock, word passed quietly from home to home in Spencer that Mary Hanson had passed away. It had been known for some time that her condition was serious but when that which had been only a possibility became a reality her many friends sensed more keenly the loss of a faithful co-worker. Until her illness about a year ago, Miss Hanson had been active in many community affairs. She was an ardent worker in her church and the ladies organizations connected with it. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and an active worker in the American Legion Auxiliary. With her passing Spencer has lost a pioneer whose labors were long in the interests of the community.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, June 28, at 1:45 at the Swarthout Funeral Home and at 2:00 at the Methodist church. A complete obituary will be published next week.
