Ted Selves and family and Mrs. Blackman and family were New Year’s guests of the Geo. Howard family.

 

Mrs. Wm. Ruege is suffering with a sprained ankle since Saturday when she fell on an icy walk in Neillsville.

 

Floyd Mabie of Crandon is visiting between the Carter and Huckstead homes since Saturday.

 

Louis Hantke bought a span of heavy work horses of Joe Counsell Saturday in preparation for moving to his new home in Shortville where he is since Sunday a private citizen and a farmer.

 

Archie Howard has purchased a home in Neillsville and is moving there this week.

 

Alvin Eisentraut is a patient at the Neillsville Hospital since Friday where he is recovering after an operation for appendicitis.

 

Mrs. Geo. Swan and son Herbert came home from Crandon Saturday.

 

The Misses Elsie King and Clara Drescher had a feather stripping bee at Neillsville Wednesday which took the time and attention of Mesdmaes Alfred and Otto Drescher, Otto Hantke and the Misses Jennie, Anna and Hattie Drescher, and gave all a good time.  Alfred Drescher acted as teamster for this company.

 

Miss Mae Huckstead will entertain a large company of young people at a party tonight.

 

Mrs. Robert Kurth spent yesterday with her sister Mrs. Clemens Kuechenmeister.

 

Mrs. Otto Hantke is quite under the weather since yesterday.
