Meinholdt, Martha (21 October 1882 - 25 August 1965)

 

Mrs. Martha Meinholdt, 82, of Greenwood, died at 1 p.m. August 25, in a Marshfield hospital where she was a patient 10 days following a heart attack.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday from Immanuel United Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Orval Egbert officiated and burial was made in the West Side Cemetery.  Hill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mrs. Meinholdt, the former Martha Marquardt, was born October 21, 1882, in the Town of Green Grove.  On May 14, 1913, she married Gustave Meinholdt. They settled on a farm near Greenwood.  Mr. Meinholdt died August 21, 1927.  Since that time she had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry (Mercedes) Liebzeit.  She was a member of United Church and its Women’s Guild.

 

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Liebzeit, Mrs. Frank (Arlene) Perushek; and a niece, (foster daughter) Mrs. Samuel (Doris Marquardt) Scardino of Chicago; nine grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; four brothers, Frank and Benjamin of Colby, Herman of Chicago and Fred of Abbotsford; and two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Hill of Chicago and Mrs. George Tesmer of Colby.
