A 10:00 o’clock marriage ceremony performed Saturday morning , Oct. 26, 1963, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, where promises were exchanged before the Rev. H.L. Crubel by Miss Jean Albert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Albert, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and James Lukas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lukas, Thorp.

 

The children’s choir sang for the nuptial High Mass.  Bouquets of white mums with red oak leaves decorated the altar and the pews were marked with white bows.

 

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a bell skirted gown of angelskin peau fashioned with bateau neckline and redingote effect created by softly rounded scallops caught with small buttons cascading from neckline to hemline.  The full-pleated skirt back curved to a chapel train revealing medallions of Alencon lace.

 

Her three-tiered bouffant veil of imported silk illusion was attached to a crown of pearl s with petal sprays.  White jappettes with stephanotis were mounted on her prayer book with a rosary entwined around the jappettes.

 

Preceding the bride to the altar were her aides, Miss Pat Verkuilen and Miss Pat Lukas, Thorp.

 

Their street length gowns of royal blue taffeta were made with round necklines on the fitted bodices and floor length overskirts with inverted pleats attached to wide cummerbunds having two small bows at the back.

 

They had matching flower headpieces with a bouffant maline veil in the back and carried cascades of white Fuji mums.

 

The groom’s attendants were Russ Lee of Amery as best man, Merlin Nevala, Mosinee, and Niles Muson, Sheboygan, the groomsmen, Jim Albert, Withee and Bob Lukas, Thorp were ushers.

 

The wedding breakfast followed the church ceremony witht eh reception and dance all held at St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall.

 

Guests arrived from St. Paul, Minneapolis, Chicago, River Falls, Prescott, Menomonie, Madison, Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Wausau, Marshfield, Abbotsford, Neillsville, and Eau Claire.

 

The bride, a June 2, 1963 graduate of Wis. State College, River Falls, has been employed at Madison General Hospital.  Her husband, who was graduated at the same time from River Falls was affiliated with Phi Nu Chi Fraternity.  He is presently employed as an A.S.C.S. office manager trainee.
