Mrs. Carl Bladl, who has served as head of the lunch program in the Granton schools for several years, has resigned. Working in the school cafeteria this year are Mrs. William Lehmann, Mrs. Vernon Schumacher and Miss Lydia Schune.

The September meeting of the Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid was opened with a prayer and scripture reading by the Rev. F. C. Benecke. Following group singing of a hymn, the Rev. Mr. Benecke spoke on church liturgy, with members taking part.
The business meeting consisted of the election of officers. Elected were Mrs. Ray Sternitzky, president; Mrs. Leland Reich, vice president; Mrs. Don Bartsch, re-elected secretary; Mrs. Otto Hasz, treasurer.
The new officers will assume their duties January 1. Attending the September meeting were 35 members. Two visitors were Mrs. Dale Trimberger and Mrs. William Kammerer. Hostesses were Mrs. Walter Trachte, Mrs. Hugo Trimberger and Mrs. Otto Sternitzky. Serving committee for the October meeting will be Mrs. Duane Anding, Mrs. William Weichelt, and Mrs. F. C. Benecke.

The Granton Homemaker club met Thursday at the home of Mrs. Arnold Garbisch. The group made match crosses. It was voted that the October 14 meeting would be a trip to Marshfield. Mrs. Walter Trimberger, president, presided at the meeting and read a poem dedicated to a deceased member, Mrs. Elsie Nowack.
Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidtke and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmidtke returned Monday evening from a trip to eastern states. At Chester, N. J., they were guests of the Otto Schmidtke’s daughter, Mrs. Harvey Spangler, and family. In Portsmouth, VA., they were guests of a niece, Mrs. Truitt Bradley, and family. While there, Mr. Truitt, a member of the medical corps, took them aboard the Enterprise, the only atomic airplane carrier. They report the ship as a floating city with 5,000 men aboard. Enroute home they visited in Chicago with Mr. and Mrs. George Bayer. From Chicago they drove to Rockford, Ill., for a visit with Mrs. William Schmidtke’s sister, Mrs. Eskil Erickson, and with her nephew, Gene Turner and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Moh and daughters, Shelly and Cheryl, of Des Moines, Ia., have been visiting his mother, Mrs. Dora Moh, at the Armin Moh home. Enroute home to Des Moines, they plan to drive to Valparaiso, Ind., where Cheryl has enrolled in the University.
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Witte spent last week at their cottage on Long Lake, with their son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. and Mrs. Robert Witte and two sons of Madison, who had been at the Witte cottage for two weeks.
Mrs. Leona Treu of Appleton was expected today (Thursday) to spend several days with her sisters, Mrs. Anita Landgraf and Mrs. Rosetta Meyer.
