Talso, Lydia #2 (7 APR 1875 - 17 DEC 1963)
A resident of the town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 51 years, Mrs. Matti (Lydia) Talso, passed way at the home of her son, Rudy, with whom she had been living since 1944, Tuesday, Dec. 17th, 1963. Her death was attributed to a heart condition.
Born April 7, 1875, in Finland, Mrs. Talso had attained the age of 88 years, 8 months and 10 days.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Dec. 21, from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Rev. Lauri Isaacson, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, Owen, officiated. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Laurence Scheuerman, John Scheuerman, F. Manninen, C. Manninen, A. Holpanen and Neilo Kytala.
The deceased, nee Lydia Tolonen was united in marriage to the late Matti Talso in 1901 at Ely, Minn. The couple moved to the Town of Longwood 11 years later, establishing their home on a farm. Since her husband’s death on April 30, 1944, she continued to live on the home place with her son Rudy.
Surviving are five sons, Rudy and Vaino of route 3, Greenwood, Elmer Talso, Clarkston, Wash., Toivo Talso, Waukegan, Ill., and Ralph Talso, Garibidi, Oregon; a daughter, Alice Talso of Oak Park, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
