Bobb, Bessie (8 JUL 1883 - 10 JAN 1960)

 

Mrs. Newton Bobb, 1008 Second Ave., West, Ashland, Wis., died Sunday morning at an Ashland hospital.

 

Born at Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., July 8, 1883, the former Bessie Marshall was education in the local school and lived in her home community until 1920, when she was married to Newton Bobb, professor of biology at Northland College.

 

Surviving are her husband;, one son, John, a science teacher at Sturgeon Bay; three older children in the Bobb family, Norman, Minneapolis; Emily, Mrs. Gerald Torkelson, State College, Pa., and Martha, Mrs. Merlin Arne, Minneapolis; a brother, Percy Marshall, Cadott; and two sisters, Mrs. Bert (Beatrice) Horn, Windham, Mont., and Mrs. Pearl Kendall, Spokane, Wash., and six grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Bobb was devoted to the work of the church and was a member of the Presbyterian Congregational Church.  She was also active in the National College Dames Club.

 

Relatives attending the funeral were: Mrs. Ed Asselin and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bobb of Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Marshall, Cadott, and Mrs. W.F. Klaar.
