Plecity, Frank #3 (8 OCT 1882 - 7 FEB 1960)

Frank Plecity, 77, a former resident of Thorp, passed away suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Kovack at Gary, Ind., on Sunday, Feb 7th, 1960.

The remains were brought to Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wis., where funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 11th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with interment in the parish cemetery.  Rev. Edward Hartung officiated.

Mr. Plecity was born Oct. 8, 1882 in Bohemia.  He came to America with his parents while a young boy and grew to manhood on the farm just north of Thorp.  In 1905 he began to work at the Thorp Manufacturing Co., then owned by Ans and Roy Heagle.  When the Heagle Co. went to Gilman in 1907 he went with them and also stayed with the company when they took over the Toy Factory in Stanley, where he served as bookkeeper until it was sold in 1950.

His wife, the former Mary Potter of Greenwood, passed away in Dec. 1955 and a son also preceded him in death in 1959.

Besides his daughter, Mrs. John Kovack of Gary, Ind., he is survived by a son, Leo, in Connecticut, and three grandchildren.
