Hannan, Rita Catherine (26 Sept 1959)

Miss Rita Catherine Hannan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hannan, route two and William G. Meyer, son of Mrs. Rosetta Meyer, Granton and Edward Meyer, Loyal exchanged marriage vows before Father Edward Bertz of LaCrosse, a cousin of the bride, on Saturday September 26th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at Loyal.   The nuptial High Mass, The Lord’s Prayer and Ava Maria were sung by the church choir with Sister Vera Marie as organist.

Miss Hannan who was escorted to the altar by her father was wearing a bridal gown of traditional silk organza featuring a Sabrina neckline accented by cut work appliqué of seed pearls and sequins.  It had a fitted bodice with bouffant floor length skirt from which flowed a petaled chapel length train.  Both were accented with alencon lace applique’s embroidered with sequins.

Her finger tip silk illusion veil fell from a queen’s crown of seed pearls, and she carried a cascade of bouquet of orchids surrounded by stephanotis and ivy.

Miss Theresse Hannan of Milwaukee was her sister’s maid of honor.  Miss Annette Hannan of Monroe and Miss Diane Sherman of Wisconsin Rapids, a friend of the bride, were her bridesmaids.  They all wore dresses of raspberry pink silk organza with a round neckline, above elbow puff sleeves, fitted bodice  (balance of copy missing.)
