Pfohl, Rev. John Gabriel (24 Mar 1904- 02 Nov 1959)
The Rev. John Gabriel Pfohl, 55, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, died suddenly Monday evening of a heart attack.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. H.C. Milius of Augusta and Rev. E. Seidel of Wausau. After this service the remains will be taken to Mueller Funeral Home at Cedarburg. At 2 p.m. on Saturday services will be held in the Lutheran Church there with the Rev. Milleville officiating. Burial will be at Cedarburg, Wis. The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginning Thursday a.m. and will be taken to the church early Friday forenoon to lie in state there.
The Rev. Pfohl was born in Walmore, New York, March 24, 1904. He was married to Cordelia Lueder at Cedarburg, October 15, 1930.
He received his education at Martin Luther seminary, Buffalo, New York.
He was ordained into the Lutheran Ministry June 24, 1928. His first parish was at Random Lake. On July 24, 1932 he moved to his second parish at Leland, Wis. He came to Loyal, March 1955 and for the past four and one half years has been pastor of Trinity Lutheran.
He is survived by Mrs. Pfohl and three children, Mrs. James (Ruth) Unmacht, Dubuque, Iowa, Ronald of Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich.; and Harold at home; two grandchildren; three brothers, Max, Louis and Sigmund Pfohl all of Sanborn, New York; and by five sisters, Mrs. Phillip Kroening, Mrs. Jonas Haseley, Mrs. Marcus Haseley and Mrs. Mervin Haseley all of Sanborn, New York; and by Mrs. Gilbert Goescke, Akron, New York.
