In a 9:30 a.m. ceremony, Saturday, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, Miss Betty Jo Miller, daughter of Mr. and mrs. Matt Beaver, Colby, became the bride of Alfred Hills Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hills Sr., Loyal. The Rev. John Pinion was officiator.
For the nuptial rites the bride chose a floor length gown of hand clipped chantilly lace and tulle over satin. The shirred basque bodice had a jeweled neck line and a lace redingote topped the ruffled skirt. The veil fell from a crown of petals trimmed with seed pearls and iridescent sequins. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis.
A sister-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Norman Miller of Park Falls, was matron of honor and Mrs. Donald Hills, Loyal, a sister –in-law of the groom was bridesmaid. Each wore a ballerina length gown of pink chiffon over taffeta, with a shirred bodice and cowl neckline with streamers down the back. They each carried a colonial bouquet of pink and white carnations.
Flower girls were Jane Beaver, of Colby, sister of the bride, and Susan Hills, Loyal, sister of the groom. Their dresses were White with blue streamers and were styled like the gowns of the bridal attendants.
The groom chose the brother-in-law o the bride, Norman Miller, for his best man and John Hills, Milwaukee, was groomsman for his brother.
Raymond Miller, Marshfield, brother of the bride, and Merlin (Pat) Duell, Loyal, brother-in-law of the groom ushered.
The mother of the bride wore an orchid linen dress and the groom’s mother wore a blue linen dress. Both wore white accessories and yellow and white corsages.
The groom, who is employed by the Stock Chevrolet Company, is a graduate of the Loyal High School and the bride, a graduate of Colby High School. Is an employee of Employers Mutual of Wausau.
A honeymoon was spent in northern Wisconsin and they will make their home in Loyal.
