Ure, Lydia (28 February 1894 - 14 November 1965)

Mrs. Lydia Ure, 71, died Sunday at her home in Neillsville.  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home.  The Rev. Evan Dieck of the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant officiated.  Burial was made in Mound Cemetery, near Pittsville.

Her body was found about 9 a.m. Sunday on the floor of a room of her apartment over the Sears store in downtown Neillsville. A cord had been wound around her neck several times.  Coroner Robert W. Lulloff called the death a suicide.

Mrs. Ure, the former Lydia Krause, was born February 28, 1894, in the Town of Lynn. She received her education in the Lynn School.  She was married to Ray Ure who preceded her in death.  Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Ure farmed in the Town of Fremont, later moving to Pittsville.  For the last few years she had been residing in Neillsville.

She is survived by a son, Ralph Ure of Leonard, Mich.; four sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Marg of Marion, Ia., Martha Rose of Granton, Mrs. Gertrude Breseman of Lynn, and Mrs. Agnes Ure of Junction City; a brother, Martin Krause of Granton; and by one grandchild.
