Erpenbach, Cecelia Marie (3 March 1927 - 17 March 2012)
Cecelia M. Erpenbach, 85, of Neillsville died Saturday, March 1, 2012, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Cecelia Marie (Fitzsimmons) Erpenbach was born March 3, 1927, in Drywood, Chippewa County, the daughter of John and Ellen (Seichter) Fitzsimmons. She attended School in Boyd. She was united in marriage to William P. Erpenbach Feb. 20, 1950, in Stanley. Throughout the years, Cecelia raised five children and worked at the Farmers’ Store, McCain’s, and Skogmo’s in Neillsville. She also worked at Nelson Muffler for 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s PCCW and the Neillsville Legion Auxiliary. Cecelia loved her family and many friends. She was also very proud of her Irish heritage.
She is survived by her husband William of Neillsville; five children, Sylvia (John) Erpenbach-Skallerup of Muskegon, MI; William J. Erpenbach of Cheyenne, WY; Paul (Natalie) Erpenbach of Neillsville; James P. Erpenbach and John R. (Mary) Erpenbach, both of Madison; seven grandchildren, Anne Skallerup of Chicago, IL, James R. Skallerup of Cincinnati, OH, Erin Skallerup of Muskegon, MI, Denise and Holly Erpenbach of Neillsville and Emily and Ashlyn Erpenbach of Madison. She if further survived by siblings, Tony (Mary) Fitzsimmons, Betty Mathison and Otto (Deloris) Fitzsimmons and many nieces and nephews.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jeanette Bourget, John Fitzsimmons, Florence Giles, Leo Fitzsimmons, Hubert Fitzsimmons, Ken Fitzsimmons and Mary Zimmerman.
Serving as casketbearers for Cecelia were William J, Paul, Jim, and John Erpenbach and John and James Skallerup.
A mass of Christian burial was held for Cecelia at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville with Rev. Varkey V. Joseph as the celebrant. Ronald Resong, organist, and St. Mary’s choir provided music. Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service. Interment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
