Dimmitt, Mary Adele (1 May 1877 - 7 December 1965)

 

Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) morning for Mrs. Mary Adele Dimmitt, 88, of Rt. 1 Humbird, who died Monday in Neillsville.  Services will be held from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church - Fairview, near Fairchild. The Rev. M. J. Molinaro and Rev. A. H. Bofenkemp of Spencer will officiate. Burial will be made in the Mentor Cemetery, Humbird.

 

Mrs. Dimmitt was born May 1, 1877, in Warsaw, Ind.  On February 2, 1895, she was married to William Dimmitt, who died in 1950.  They moved to Humbird in 1916, where they were engaged in farming.  Since the death of her husband Mrs. Dimmitt has been housekeeper for the Rev. Fr. Bofenkemp in Fairview and Spencer.

 

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and its St. Ann’s Altar Society.

 

Mrs. Dimmitt is survived by six children: William A. of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Mary Ray of Owen, Mrs. Lester (Lora) Vinney of Humbird, Mrs. Nellie Matti of Humbird, Mrs. Frances Jung of Necedah, and George Dimmitt of Humbird; and by 21 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

 

A general rosary service was held Wednesday evening at the Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville.
