Mrs. Geo. Frei has about recovered from her recent attack of la grippe.
Clarence Reindel has been doing chores for Mr. A.B. Schuler, who has been confined to his home with a severe case of la grippe.
By the looks of the business rooms in the Neillsville Bank occupied by the different tax collectors Saturday, one would think that all the tax payers wanted to see how much they had left to buy something to keep them warm the rest of this mild winter weather.
Jason Gault is confined to his home with something on the grippe order. Don’t know where hand, mouth or body, but hope nothing serious.
County has had their ice house filled for the winter on the County farm.
D.H. Rhines is filling his ice house this week. He is drawing it from Neillsville and it is fine ice.
Guy Snyder had quite a time getting to the Neillsville Condensary Sunday through that awful snowstorm which raged all day, taking Harlan Potter as a sub whether to shovel snow or inspect the state roads to see if they were in impassible condition.
Talk about snow. Sunday we had a regular Dakota blizzard, but Monday it was shovelers day as everyone had to get busy and use some elbow grease and not for exercise either.
Chas. Peck was the first one out Monday, breaking and shoveling snow to gather up his patron’s milk for the condensary at Neillsville.
Mabel Lastofka of Neillsville visited her brother Geo. Lastofka on the Bradford farm Sunday and Monday.
Viola Rhines could not make her usual drive to high school Monday on account of the badly drifted roads.
Ed Ackerman drove to Neillsville Tuesday and helped pack down the roads.
Frank Lueck’s horse by some reason got loose in the barn a few nights ago and helped itself to too much corn and oats. When Frank arrived tot eh stable in the morning he found that it was in bad condition, making it necessary to call a veterinary to treat the good horse to some drink. At this writing it is getting along some better.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Frei attended an anniversary at Columbia Saturday afternoon and evening.
