Chili (29 September 1911)
Sunshine is prevailing at this writing, the best we have had for weeks.
The frost Tuesday night doesn’t seem to have done very much damage. Still farmers are cutting corn fast now. A great part of it got ripe this year, a larger percentage than was expected six weeks ago.
The sunshine social to be given by the R. N. A. was postponed on account of the weather.
Louis Lindow got a silage cutter and gasoline engine. He has his own corn cut and his silo filled and he will take other jobs if chances open. Ask him and he will do good work.
Mr. and Mrs. Hogenson and Ores were visitors at Black River Falls a few days last week. They returned Monday morning, having enjoyed a pleasant vacation.
A few buggies left yet at Degener’s; also wood fibre plaster and electric weld woven wire, the best on the market!
Rinehart Lenoble sold some of his personal property at auction, Tuesday. He intended to go to his old home, but he may stay here and buy a small farm.
Conrad Henninger is building a house and John Van Dummenden a barn. Gustave Heinrich and John Tuchacherer have the jobs respectively.
A sister of Mrs. L. A. Reichert is visiting her at present.
Degener buys grain!
The sunshine social and quilt raffle given by the R. N. A. will be held at the M. W. A. Hall Friday evening, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. Come, wear a bit of yellow and a smile and help make sunshine.
