Hardy, Charles (26 SEP 1874 - 30 APR 1960)
Charles Hardy, the son of Wm. and Rachel Hardy, was born Sept. 26, 1874 in Richland Co., Wis., and passed away April 30, 1960 in the Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.
Charles had been a resident of the town of Reseburg for the past 60 years and will be missed by his many friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Thorp Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Claybaugh, pastor of the Reseburg Congregational Church, of which Charles was a member, officiating. Gloria Hardy, Russell Hull, Carolyn and Anita Bobb sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "God Will Take Care of You," accompanied by Carolyn Bobb.
He is survived by his wife, the former Sarah Nelson, five sons and one daughter, Chester of Marshfield, Philip of Pine Grove, Pa., Roger of Chester, Pa., Earl of Milwaukee, Laurence at home, and Mrs. Herbert Wheeler of Big Foote, also one brother, two sisters, Holly Tazel of Richland Center and Mrs. Maggie Owen of Waukesha, twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Don and Philip Wheeler, Earl Haskins, Lester Hardy, Glen Owen and Henry Hardy.
Relatives and friends here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wheeler and sons, of Big Foote, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hardy, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Haskins, Elkhorn, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Owen, union Grove, Chet Hardy and family, Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hardy and family, St. Paul, Lester Hardy, Duluth, Mrs. Eleanor De Moss and family, Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Vrkljan, Withee, Russell and Pearl Hiel, Menasha, Bert Nelson and Ora Gibbs, Boscobel, Mrs. Maggie Owen, Waukesha, Percy Marshall, Cadott.
