Sunday and Monday were two fine days and no doubt those who prophesied an open winter felt well enough to come out from their hiking place and look around a little.

Wm. Rowe and wife came home Friday from their visit at Marinette, to which place they went on Christmas.

Melvin Lawrence was over from Marshfield Monday and returned again on Tuesday.

Rev. Irish, District Superintendent, will conduct quarterly conference in the M.E. Church next Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday afternoon the Sacrament will be administered.

Mrs. Sadie Rowe and daughter Verla have been having a fine time with La Grippe the past week, and in consequence Miss Verla was absent from school.

Walter Bros. of Heintown, with their hay baling machine, were in this vicinity last Friday and Saturday, and baled hay for John, Abe and Alvin Vandeberg.

Mrs. E. Mortimer was taken by surprise last Friday, when a number of friends went to her home and reminded her that she had passed another milestone of her life.  Refreshments were taken along with the crowd, and wee devoured in the best of spirits.  Mrs. Mortimer received a number of nice tokens in honor of the occasion.

W.E. Benedict has sold his land known as the church forty to John Davis.  Consideration was $1,500.

Forest Rowe was laid up a few days last week with tonsillitis, but is much better now.

Ed Voight and Sid Free, who were hauling logs at Maplehurst, came home Thursday.  They report too much snow.

Motion was made by Omer Deets and seconded by Abie Turner, that a snow shoveling club be organized at once.  Here’s hoping that the first bee will be held in the writer’s yard.  The motion was unanimous.

Dr. Ross was called Wednesday to attend little Harold Vandeberg, who was quite sick with a very hard cold and threatened with pneumonia.

Mrs. W. Rowe is at present quite sick with la grippe.

Emil Luebke and family from Weston spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vet Pease.

Henry and Chas. Helm transacted business at Neillsville one day last week.

Mrs. Fred Capelle and son Harold went to Plymouth last week Wednesday in response to a message informing here of her sister’s alarming illness.

Norm Ross entertained a number of her small friends in honor of her 11^th birthday.

Mrs. Geo. Hollenbach was taken very ill last week, but at this writing is some better.

The annual meeting of A.F.C. Witt’s Cheese Factory was held at the town hall last Saturday evening.

Dr. C.L. Schultz returned home last week from a several months stay near Spirit Falls, hunting and trapping.
