CAME TO SPENCER WHEN 11; NOW 75 YEARS OLD
Fred Schwantes was a welcome caller at this office Monday and paid for the Record for another year. Fred said he had taken the Spencer paper as long as one had been printed here. He came to Spencer at age 11 years and is now 75. He witnessed the clearing of the fertile acres of farm land here and the growth of the community.
