Wry, John (7 JAN 1898 - 22 MAY 1960)
Funeral services for John Wry, 62, of Spencer, fatally injured Sunday morning, May 22, 1960, in an automobile crash south of Marshfield, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25 in Trinity Lutheran Church at Spencer. The Rev. W.R. Krueger officiated and burial was made in the East Thorp Cemetery.
Mr. Wry was born Jan. 7, 1898 at Eidsvold (Clark Co., Wis.) and had lived there until 1946 when he moved to Spencer to accept employment at Spencer Dairy Belt, where he continued to work until the time of his death.
His first marriage took place at Thorp in 1920 to Rosa Karlen, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 14, 1949, he was married at Spencer to Laura Hoops who survives him.
Other Survivors are two children from the first marriage, Lloyd Wry, Black Creek, and Mrs. Virgil (Shirley) Heber, Spencer; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emmett Flora, West Allis; a brother, Earl, Stillwater; a step-daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mable) Morrow, Marshfield; four step-sister; four step-brothers and his step-mother, Mrs. Amanda Wry.
