Witt, Fred (23 SEPT 1865-14 JULY 1958)
Fred Witt, 92, formerly of Loyal died at the Wood County infirmary Monday morning, July 14, of old age complications.
He was born in Germany, Sept. 23, 1865 and came to the United States when four years old of age. The family in Outagamie County and lived there for 30 years. He was married to Alvina Knaak, Dec. 27, 1893 at Appleton. They moved to Clark County and settled in the town of Beaver. They retired from active farming in 1930. In 1936 they moved into the city of Loyal. His wife died Dec. 28, 1948. He lived with his daughter for four years.
Funeral services will be held at the Myre Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday with William Baker officiating.
He is survived by four sons, Fred Jr. of Watertown, Elmer of Abbotsford, John of New York Mills, Min., and Harvey of Curtiss; by three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Elda) Lebeck, Marshfield, Mrs. H. (Hilda) Laufenberg, West Allis, and Mrs. Edna Degner, Green Bay; three sisters, Mrs. John Bohl and Mrs. Mary Rheil, Appleton, and Miss Emma Witt, Milwaukee; and by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
One son and two sisters and three brothers also preceded him in death.
