Ceremony Performed at St. John’s Lutheran Church North of Spencer by the Rev. H. C. Hinz Officiating.
Two well known young people, Valerious Herman Manthe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Manthe of Spencer, and Miss Hazel Vanderhoof, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Vanderhoff of Spencer, repeated their wedding vows before the Rev. H. C. Hinz at St. John’s Lutheran church north of Spencer at 2:00 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 10, 1941.
The bride wore a white satin dress and a pearl necklace. Her entrained veil flowed from a tiara headdress and she carried a shower bouquet. Miss Viola Vanderhoof, maid fo honor appeared in a gown of pink chiffon and a shower corsage, and Mrs. Byrl Laurance, sister of the bride, attended in an aqua chiffon gown. LeRoy O. Manthe served as best man, and Byrl Laurance was groomsman. Relatives of the couple attended a supper and reception held at the home of the groom’s parents, where the newlyweds will reside. Mr. Manthe is employed in mill work.
