Prokopinski, Mary E. (9 July 1928 - 23 March 2012)

 

Mary E. Prokopinski, age 83, of Spencer, passed away peacefully Friday, March 23, 2012 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, with her family by her side. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will be in the West Spencer Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer.

 

Mary was born July 9, 1928 in Stanley, Wisconsin, a daughter of William "Emrol" and Martha (Davis) Green. She attended Pioneer County School and Thorp High School.  On June 14, 1945 she was united in marriage to Edward Prokopinski. The couple later divorced.  Mary was employed as a factory worker in the local food industry.

 

Ms. Prokopinski was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer.

 

She cherished the time she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Mary enjoyed camping, boating, and snowmobiling. Those that knew her best will miss her warm spirit and her love of square dancing.

 

Mary is lovingly survived by: her children, Judie Jacobs of Stetsonville, Rosie Backus of Marshfield, Pat Moyer of Mondovi, "Frank" (Rose) Prokopinski of Spencer, Cyndi (Daryl) Rumminger of Santa Clara, CA; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by, a brother, Dever (Freda) Green of Loyal. She will truly be missed by all.

 

Her parents, William "Emrol" and Martha; a sister, Iola; a brother, Oliver, and a grandson, David preceded Mary in death.
