Lynn (27 October 1911)

 

Miss Martha Nitschke returned home Wednesday after spending ten days at the Ridge.

 

The Misses Lillie Opelt, Gertrude Martin and Martha Nitschke went to Black River Falls Sunday.

 

The Misses Lydia and Minnie Shier were calling on friends in this vicinity one day last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. J. Kittoe, Mrs. J. Jeffery, Robert Nankivil and Mrs. Nankivil visited at the John Altenburg home Thursday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gotter left Saturday for a several weeks visit at Potter.

 

Arthur Opelt transacted business at chili Saturday.

 

The depot at Lynn underwent (blotch) work.  The old chimney was torn down and a new one built.  Theodore Breseman and railroad carpenters did the work.

 

Mrs. Elizabeth Montag attended a party at Charles Riedel’s Friday evening.

 

Miss H. Sternitzky and Max Opelt autoed to Neillsville Saturday to attend a school board meeting.

 

Fred Grassman purchased a new organ.

 

Adolph Riedel had an operation performed for cancer on his face last week.

 

A Pusheck and family visited relatives here the first of the week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. J. Kittoe and Mrs. J. Jeffery returned to their home in the southern part of the state early in the week.

 

Mrs. Gruno and son Otto were pleasantly surprised at the Henry Sternitzky home by their relatives Friday evening.  A very special time was enjoyed by all. They returned to their home in St. Louis Saturday morning.

 

John Altenburg Jr. and little daughter Lucile and sisters, Etta and Emma spent Sunday at Nasonville with relatives.

 

Max Opelt, R. T. Washburn and Ferd Helm autoed to Babcock Monday, returning Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Preston spent Sunday afternoon at the R. T. Washburn home.
