Last week’s news

 

Mrs. R. Free came up from Neillsville one day last week and stayed overnight with her daughter Mrs. H. Lawrence.

 

Mrs. Ted O’Brien is the owner of a new sewing machine.

 

C. Kretschmer, son and daughter came over from Chili one day this week to look after his place here.

 

Abram Vandeberg delivered cheese to Loyal Thursday for Heibel and Beecher.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Rob Thompson and Mrs. Galton and daughter Mattie attended divine services at the M. E. Church Sunday.

 

Father Stork called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Lawrence Saturday morning and left a bouncing baby girl.  This makes three daughters they now have to gladden their home.

 

Pearl Davis returned to Neillsville High School Monday.

 

Ross Kronberger is working at Sam Adams’.

 

A pair of twin boys arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Heck, Wednesday.

 

At 8 o’clock Wednesday evening occurred the marriage of Miss Nora Judd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Judd to Mr. Merle Benedict, son of M. and Mrs. S. W. Benedict, both of this place; Rev. E. R. Kildow of Loyal officiating.

Auctions are getting plentiful in this community there being one Thursday at the Al Turner farm and one Monday at the Mart Lastofka farm.

 

Abie Turner is busy carpentering for Mr. Bardell.

 

Gus Olson returned home Saturday from a trip at different places.

 

Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Benedict spent Sunday at the home of S. W. Benedict.

 

Ray Campbell helped Wm Rowe cut corn Tuesday.

 

Mrs. F. W. Ferris and mother attended M. E. Church Sunday.

 

Miss Edna Judd began work for Mrs. Heck Monday.

 

The Halloween social Friday night was not very largely attended.  Proceeds were $5.31.

 

Ed Graves and wife spent Sunday at the home of Ernest Rowe.

 

Wm. Campbell began moving his furniture Wednesday onto the Anthony place which he purchased a short time ago.

 

Dan Timerson made a trip to Granton after flour for W. E. Benedict Wednesday.

 

Mr. Quinn of Loyal was down fixing phones Tuesday.

 

Melvin Lawrence will soon be initiated into the office of bachelor.

 

Mrs. Mary Fulwiler went to Marshfield Friday for a three weeks visit with relatives.

 

John Vandeberg purchased a cow at the Mart Lastofka auction.
