Benefit Fair for Black River Falls Sufferers (17 November 1911)
The Circle ladies are busy with a variety Sale which is to come off on Wednesday, Nov. 22. A hot supper will be served to all who apply beginning at 6 o’clock p.m. until all are served at 25c a plate. The articles to be sold consist of dolls, aprons, towels, all manner of fancy articles, candies, breads, cakes, cookies, etc., etc., One half the proceeds of the sale and supper to go for the benefit of the Black River Falls flood sufferers.
Geo Hart offers a Rayo lamp to the highest cash purchaser, a berry set to the second highest cash purchaser, and a fancy plate to the third highest cash purchaser at his store that day. The competitors must be cash patrons of the sale to the extent of 50c at least.
August Hammler offers a sewing table as a premium to the lady who donates the piece of fancy work which sells for the highest price.
Editor Baer will give a year’s subscription to the Granton News to the farmer donating the best collection of vegetables.
G. E. Amidon offers a box of chocolates to the girl who dresses a doll best. The Circle is to furnish the doll.
