Warden, Martha (6 JAN 1876 - 20 JUN 1960)

 

Mrs. Harry Warden, 84, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) died Monday afternoon in St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield where she had been a patient for one week.  Funeral services will be conducted at the Presbyterian Church in Stanley at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon with Rev. Dierks officiating.  Burial will be made in the Oakland Cemetery in Stanley.

 

The former Martha Halverson was born Jan. 6, 1876 in Benson, Minn.  As a small child she moved with her parents to Hatton, N.D., and at the age of 14 they came to Clark County.  She was married to Harry Warden on Aug. 25, 1895.  They farmed in the Eidsvold area in the town of Thorp, Clark County.  After the death of her husband in 1932, Mrs. Warden remained on the farm until 1943, and then moved to Withee to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Bert Miller.

 

Surviving her are two sons, Howard, Ingomar, Pa.; Guy, Milwaukee; and five daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Mabel) Isenberger, Stanley; Mrs. Marjorie Holman, Milwaukee; Mrs. Milton (Stella) Patrick, Trevor; Mrs. Bert (Alice) Miller, Withee, and Mrs. Lyly (Theresa) Stair, Osseo.  There are 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.  She also leaves two half-brothers, Gilbert Halverson, Gilman; Ed Halverson, address unknown, and a half-sister, Mrs. William Erickson, Gilman.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and a brother.
