Urban, Grace Emily (10 December 1924 - 29 March 2012)

 

Grace E. Urban died March 29, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

 

Grace Emily was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Casco, Kewaunee County, to Emanuel and Lillian (Havel) Thiry.  She received her education at Lincoln Elementary, one year at Casco High School and graduated from Sevastopol High School, Institute, Door County, in 1941. From 1941 to 1942 she attended Door-Kewaunee Normal in Algoma.  From 1942 to 1943 she worked at the L. D. Shipbuilders, Sturgeon Bay.

 

She married Charles "Bob" Urban, Jan. 8, 1945. They moved to Neillsville in 1947. She was employed at the Clark County Forestry and Parks Department for 15 years.  Her interests were bowling, golfing, cards and camping.  Winters were spent at McAllen, TX.

 

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Wade "Chuck" and Tyler (Gayle) Urban; six grandchildren, Troy (Jennifer) Urban, Sarah Urban, Shannon (Ryley) Blair, Wade Huebner, Kristy Urban and Andrew Urban; brother-in-law, Ron Huebner; a niece; a nephew; and four great grandsons.

 

She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Harold Thiry; sister, Joan Witt, Menomonee Falls; a nephew, niece and their beloved daughter, Dawn.

 

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

 

Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery for family members only, with Rev. Tim Biebert officiating.
