Debevec, Agnes Elizabeth "Aggie" (11 January 1929 - 29 March 2012)
Agnes E. "Aggie" Debevec, 83, of Greenwood, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Agnes Elizabeth Klapatauskas was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Thorp, the daughter of Michael and Katherine (Jazdouskas) Klapatauskas. She was raised on the family farm, received her education at Butler School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Frank C. Debevec Jan. 10, 1948, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. They lived and raised their family in Willard.
Agnes worked several jobs throughout her married life, including Barr’s Minkery, Grabara’s Bakery in Greenwood, Wedges Creek Research Lab south of Willard, and was a CNA at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen. Her husband, Frank, died March 16, 1998. Aggie continued to live in Willard until moving to Greenwood in 2006.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was very active in the PCCW and was a key organizer of the church’s annual bazaar; and a member of the Willard Social Club. Aggie had many interests, but especially loved to cook, volunteering for just about anything, playing pinochle, bowling, doing jigsaw puzzles and driving.
She will be dearly missed by her three children, Patricia (Cal) Coleman of Cottage Grove, MN, William (Linda) Debevec of Neillsville, Alan (Karol) Debevec of Greenwood; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Fischer of Chicago; one brother, Julius Klapatauskas of Thorp; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Klapatauskas of Marshfield and Margie Klapatauskas of Withee; one brother-in-law, Ray (Laverne) Debevec of Pasco, WA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; one son, Randy, in 1952; six sisters, Ann Klapatauskas, Estelle Dulinsky, Frances Vallone, Martha Podobnik, Katherine Gregorich, Josephine Wind; and two brothers, Charles and Michael Klapatauskas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Willard. Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate and burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Luke Bauer, Mindy Bauer, Craig Debevec, Jesse Coleman, Jeff Christianson, Ann Christianson and Christopher Dunn. Visitation was held at Cuddie Funeral home, in Greenwood, Tuesday, April 3, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary service and at the church, Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
