Bessert, Martha (25 JUL 1891 - 12 JUN 1960)
Mrs. Martha Bessert, 68, died in the Stanley Hospital Saturday evening, June 12th, 1960, at 6 o’clock. She had been staying in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Zaborowski, for about four months.
Funeral services will be held on June 21 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens, Wis., with the Rev. Martin Mayer officiating. Burial was in the Athens Cemetery.
Mrs. Bessert was born in Athens July 25, 1891, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Fiedler, and married Harvey Bessert Nov. 27, 1951 in Thorp.
Surviving are the widower; two sons, Wilfred and Eldred Winger, both of Thorp; the daughter, Mrs. Raymond Zaborowski; three brothers, Charles Fiedler, 934 S. 21st Av., Athens, William Fiedler, Milwaukee, and August Fiedler, Two Rivers; four sisters, Mrs. John Meir, Mrs. Arnold Lenhard and Mrs. August Lenhard, all of Athens, and Mrs. Ed Crane, Winter Park, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
