Hegg, Charles O (10 AUG 1915 - 1 JUL 1960)
Funeral services for Charles O. Hegg were held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stanley Sunday afternoon at two o’clock, Rev. John Reppe of Two Harbors, Minn., officiated and interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Stanley.
Mr. Hegg was born in Mason, Wis., Aug. 10, 1915. He graduated from Ashland High School and was employed in Ashland for a time. In 1942 he started work in the office of Northern States Power Co. in Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.). A year later he was transferred to the NSP Co. office in Stanley. His marriage to Ellen Beyreis took place in Milwaukee in 1944. He worked for the Flue Moon Industries, Thorp, in the office for a year and since 1948 he had been the representative for the Stanley district of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.
Mr. Hegg became suddenly ill the morning of June 7, and for the past three weeks had been a patient at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn., where he passed away July 1, 1960.
He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stanley, of which he was a past treasurer. At the time of his death he was serving as a member of the Stanley City Council. He was a member of the Stanley Commercial Club; Stanley, Lodge 273, F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen; one daughter, Linda; two sons, Randy and Roger, all at home, his mother, Mrs. Charles Hegg, Sr., of Mason, Wis.; four brothers, Leslie of Ashland; Donald of Milwaukee; Milton and Raymond of Ontonagon, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Oliver Roman, Escanaba, Mich.; Mrs. Victor Ylitalo of Marengo, Wis., and Mrs. Harold Aspittle, Riverside, Calif. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy, his father and one brother.
