Dan Rausch went to Marshfield Monday.

Mrs. Kemmeter and children left for Los Angeles, Cal., on Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wm Rinehart are at Athens.

 

Miss Emma Kimball came home from St. Paul, Tuesday.

 

Ben Stubbs left for Fairchild Monday evening for a visit at Ben Shoudy’s.

 

Traugut Beer is spending the winter with his daughter, Mrs. A. Warzinski at Spokane, Wash.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Agin of Palmyra after a weeks visit at T. F. Lee’s left for home Monday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Hart Sundayed at Chas. Chapel’s in Marshfield.

 

Cassilda Bauman of Marshfield spent several days of last week with her cousins in the Chas Neinas home.

 

Miss Gladys wage came home from Humbird for Thanksgiving and stayed until Monday.

 

Ben Frantz of Neillsville attended the dance here Thanksgiving night.

 

Jacob Leinwander of Marshfield spent Thanksgiving at Mike Grasser’s.

 

Clyde Shaw and Mrs. C. E. Beeckler came home from Milwaukee, Thursday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beeckler spent Thanksgiving here at E. A. Beeckler’s.

 

John and Dan Hefty, L. A. Reichert and Leslie Todd were over from Chili Monday.

 

Miss Kienze of Oconomowoc came up on Monday to visit her aunt Mrs. H. C. Witte.

 

Miss Minnie Wilke of Neillsville is sewing at the Hank Pietenpol home since Monday.

 

Mrs. Gusta Breed came home on Monday from a several weeks visit at Frank Waterman’s in Chili.

 

Miss Vera Pietenpol and Mrs. Clifford Winn were Neillsville visitors Monday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Tiedeman of Mauston after a several days visit at N. Pickett’s in Loyal took the train here Monday for home.

 

Mrs. Sid Davis went to Black River Falls Tuesday to bring Mrs. Johnson, her mother home.

 

A new refrigerator is being installed in Fred Hart’s butcher shop.

 

Mrs. Wm Westphal and daughter Lulu were over from Neillsville and visited at Dan Rausch’s Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Otis Slocomb and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Howard spent Sunday at the Warren Page home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Wischulke came home on Monday from a several days visit at Otto Mays near Neillsville.

 

Mrs. E. R. Wonser and daughters Mermal and Elizabeth came home from Waukesha, on Saturday.

 

John Palmer of Richland Center after a 10 days visit at J. B. Daughhetee’s left for home on Monday.

 

Mrs. H. F. Schlinsog and daughter Violet spent the first of the week with relatives at Neillsville.

Norman Pierce left for Minneapolis Friday evening.  Mrs. Pierce remained to spend the month between the T. D. Wage and Floyd Winn homes.

 

Mrs. Mat Marx, her daughters Josephine and Rose and Loretta Debrava were over from Neillsville and spent Thursday with Mrs. Jas. Finnegan and Friday, in company with Mrs. Finnegan, with Mrs. Frank Gardner.

 

Gottlieb Hillert went to Milwaukee Monday to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Schmidt of that city.

 

Eugene Osgood and his mother Mrs. Almeda Osgood were with Chas. Osgood at his home in Rozellville when he died.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Davis and baby Minerva came home last Friday evening from a couple days visit at Rice Davis’ in Arpin.

 

Chas. Neinas and family and Mrs. Baer and Helene spent last Friday at the Will Neinas home and enjoyed the Ladies Aid of Rev. Zielsdorf’s parish which dined there that day.

 

Ben Stubbs informs us that his divorced wife Mrs. Etta Stubbs was married at Edna, Labette Co. Kansas to one Bradley last week and will reside there permanently.

 

Mrs. Della Stewart of Chili who has been visiting relatives at Condo, N. D. for the past several months was married there on Nov. 9 to one Fred Striggle a wealthy farmer of Bisbee, N. D.

 

I. W. Shoudy came up from Rockford, Ill., to look after his business interests here late last week and left for Winnipeg, Can., Monday night.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Shaw and baby Bernice came home Tuesday morning from a 4 days visit at Minneapolis.

 

Two sleigh loads of young people drove out Monday night and enjoyed the school entertainment given by York’s District No. 3 where Miss Blanche Morris teaches.

 

The Mesdames Clifford Winn, Eva Canfield, Elmer Rose, and Aug. Holz and the Misses Alfreda and Norma Williams, Lulu Furguson and Bertha Hillert were Neillsville visitors Tuesday.

 

Frank Tompkins who for the past summer has been conducting a moving picture show at Cumberland, Wis., came home to eat turkey and spend a week with dad and mother.

 

Mrs. King and son Timothy and Mrs. Ara Lee went to Norway, Mich. Wednesday.  Mrs. King to remain until spring and Mrs. Lee for a couple weeks visit only at Otis Beardsley’s and Forest King’s.

 

Ed Strey, Sr. met with a very painful but not serious accident last Sunday afternoon. While attempting to stop his run-a-way team he was dragged under the sleigh and considerably bruised up about the hip and shoulder.  He wore a heavy fur coat which no doubt saved him from additional pain.

 

Mrs. F. J. Baer attended the luncheon given by the Mesdames E. W. Crosby, T. E. Brameld, H. C. Clark, W. L. Smith, C. R. Sturdevant, L. Williamson and V. C. Woelffer at the home of the first named in Neillsville, Wed.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Sid Davis have moved back onto their farm.  P. J. Kemmeter has bought the house just vacated by them, of Myron Osgood and has rented it to Anton Hoganson.

 

Mrs. Louis Garbush and son Theodore after a 4 days visit at Gottlieb Hillert’s left for their home at Stratford on Tuesday.  They came down to help Mr. Hillert celebrate his 63rd birthday Saturday. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Paulson and daughter Agnes partook of their Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Mrs. Paulson’s mother in the town of Rock (Wood Co.); the day was made doubly interesting by the marriage of Mrs. Paulson’s youngest sister, Miss Arline Anderson to Mr. Frank Scholtz of Sherwood. - Marshfield Herald.

 

Leland Davis made a business trip to Marshfield Thursday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Coleman came up from southern Illinois and moved onto what is known as the Ben Stubbs farm, Monday. Mr. Shoudy of Rockford, Ill., owns the farm, only renting it to Mr. Coleman.  Mrs. Coleman is a sister to Ben Stubbs and the latter will spend much of his time here on his old place now that his sister’s home is here.

 

A fire came nearly destroying the Barker house Tuesday afternoon, caused through an oil stove. Mrs. Leland Davis was using the stove to do some cooking when it suddenly became enveloped in flames, probably through a leakage. The wall against which it was standing was already badly scorched when help arrived and had it not been for the prompt action of Harry Cattanach and a few neighbors, the house would have been doomed.
