Miss Marlene Mae Rollins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rollins, route 2, Spencer, and Arnold F. Wesenberg. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wesenberg, route 2, Granton, were married Sept. 13 prior to a nuptial High Mass during a double-ring ceremony at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chili. The Rev. Robert Perkins officiated. Colored gladioli decorated the main altar and the altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The bride entered the church escorted by her father and wearing a floor-length gown of nylon tulle over satin designed with a sweetheart neckline and featuring lace panels in the bouffant skirt. She wore a cap-style headpiece with seed pearl trim and a silk illusion net finger-veil. The bridal bouquet included red and white roses and lily of the valley.
A sister of the groom, Miss Frieda Wesenberg, Granton, was maid of honor, and Miss Betty Law, Miss Bonnie Rollins, both of Spencer, Mrs. Charles Ress Jr., Marshfield, and Miss Carol Jean Garbisch, Granton, were bridesmaids. They wore orchid floor length formals of lace and net ruffled skirts and bodices topped with lace jackets and carried bouquets of orchid and white carnations.
Attending the groom were Verlyn Rollins, route 2, Spencer, as best man, and Norman Wesenberg, Dale Wesenberg, Charles Rees Jr., and John Paunans, groomsmen.
David Lavey, Granton and Albert Wesenberg, Neillsville, ushered.
A dinner and supper were held at the church hall and a reception at the bride’s home. A dance was held at Silver Dome Ballroom, Neillsville, that evening.
The groom, a 1956 graduate of Granton High School is employed by the Rollohome Corporation in Marshfield. The bride was graduated from Loyal High School in 1957 and has been employed by the Albert H. Weinbrenner Shoe Co. in Marshfield.
The couple will live on route 2, Granton.
Guests came from Wisconsin Rapids, Chicago, Loyal, Hibbing, Minn., Neillsville, Greenwood, Marshfield, Chippewa Falls, Granton, West Allis, Gary, Indiana, Minocqua, Kalamazoo, Mich., Madison, Milwaukee and Spencer. Narita Schmidtke and Carlotta Tichy, friends of the bride were in charge of the guest book.
