Daines, Robert Vernon (8 February 1930 - 28 January 2012) With Flag
Bob was born February 8, 1930, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Chester and Annie (Brockley) Daines. The family moved to the Township of Butler in November 1934.
Bob attended the Eastside School in the Town of Butler, and Breezy Hill School in the Town of Worden. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1949. He then enlisted in the Marines. He served in the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Upon his discharge from the Marines, Bob decided to live in California. He joined Los Angeles Police Department, and later, the Fire Department, from which he retired.
Bob later developed Parkinson’s disease, which led to surgery, from which he did not recover. He died on January 28, 2012. Burial was made at Grovetown, GA.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Sadie Pavloski, a brother, Ron, his first wife, Marion Warrell, and son, Tim, preceded him in death.
His wife, Carmen, daughter, Lori (Murakami) brothers, Tom and Jim, and nieces and nephews survive him.
