Klimpke, Lavina A. (Christiansen) (13 FEB 1918 - 1 APR 2012)

 

Lavina A. Klimpke, 94, Athens, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Continental Manor, Abbotsford.

 

She was born February 13, 1918, in town of Frankfort, daughter of the late Jacob and Minnie (Hohndaft) Christiansen.

 

On October 10, 1936, she married Walter Klimpke in the town of Wein. Walter preceded her in death on May 14, 1981.

 

Lavina farmed her whole life and enjoyed crocheting, gardening and making special ornaments for her family ever Christmas.

 

Survivors include her children, Walter Jr. (Carol); Shirley (Clarence) Liss, Gerald (Phyllis); and Ruth Komarek, all of Athens; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Bobert, Colby.

 

Besides her parents and husband Walter, she was preceded in death by four bothers, Jacob, Sebastian, Herman and Peter.


Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Peace Lutheran Church, town of Frankfort. Rev. Ron Tomlinson and Rev. Gail Sowell will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
