Kingsbury, Kenneth T. (11 October 1928 - 8 April 2012)

 

Kenneth T. Kingsbury, 83, Marshfield, formerly of Neillsville, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at his home.

 

Kenneth was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Cedar County, IA, the son of Howard and Catherine (McCune) Kingsbury.

 

He was united in marriage to Theresa M. Thornton Sept. 15, 1951, in Waterloo, IA.  He was first employed at A&P Grocery, and in 1952 began working at Nabisco Company, both in Cedar Rapids, IA.  In 1964, the Kingsbury’s began farming in Neillsville until 1990, when they retired.  They moved to Marshfield in 2009.

 

Ken was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, was a lay minister, a CCD teacher at St. Mary’s, Neillsville, a member of Pro-Life, Interfaith Caregivers, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, the Knights of Columbus, and had served on the Cenex Board of Directors.

 

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Theresa, and their children: Tom (Barb) Kingsbury of Loyal, Mary (Steve) Preston of Greenville, Stephen (Mary) Kingsbury of Chaska, MN, Barbara (Jerry) Bloss of Eau Claire, Matthew (Rebecca) Kingsbury of Lewiston, MN, Bruce (Marisol) Kingsbury of Shalimar, FL, Karen(Jeff) Slagg of Lemhi, ID, Vincent Kingsbury of Steam Boat Springs, CO, Josephine (Todd) Koss of Fond du Lac, Jennifer (Andy) Timm of Portage, IN, James (Sarah) Kingsbury of Sublimity, OR, Edwin (Jessica) Kingsbury of Loganville, Carol (Randy) Anason of Lake Mills and Ellen (James) Kertis of Holmen.  He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by a brother-in-law, Harold Michel, a sister-in-law, Rosemarie Mindt, and a brother-in-law, Dr. Frank (Pat) Thornton.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Kathy, in infancy; a granddaughter, Ashlea Timm; and sisters, Marie, Margaret and Agnes.

 

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Marshfield.  Rev. Peter Manickam will officiate, and music will be provided by Sacred Heart Church Funeral Choir.  Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Neillsville. The family will receive relatives and friends at Sacred Heart Church Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of Service. 

 

Memorials may be designated in Ken’s name to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, or Ministry Home Health Care.

 

The family wishes to thank Father Peter Manickam, Dr. Hocking, Dr. Thorne and Ministry Hospice Home care for the support and care that was given Ken.
