(Note - First name and birth date taken from St. Stephen’s Cemetery listing)
Mrs. John Duffy, who suffered a paralytic stroke several years ago and who had since been a patient invalid, was last Friday evening at about 9 o’clock relieved from her suffering, having at that time answered the Death Angel’s summons. Deceased was 68 years and 11 months of age. She is survived by her aged husband John Duffy, whom she married 23 years ago, and by nine children, namely Lizzie, Mrs. Walter Schmitz of R.2; Annie, Mrs. Herman Poppe of Tripoli; Mary, Mrs. Charles Schuster of Route 1; Rose, Mrs. Joe Cole of Marshfield; Christine, Mrs. Muns Eibergen of Chili, Peter, John and Joe Madler, all of the town of Fremont, and Maggie, Mrs. John Wilding of Marshfield.
Deceased and Mr. Duffy are well-known former Heathville residents, but since her stroke of paralysis they have lived with her son, John Madler in the town of Fremont. All her children were in attendance at her funeral which was held in the Chili Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Miller of Bakerville officiating, at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning.
The pallbearers were Vincent Meyers, Antone Hornick, Mr. Rinehart, Tony Verhagen, Geo. Verkuilen, and John Van Domelin.
